A Year of Literary Celebrations Online
Children’s Book Week. World Read Aloud Day. Bring Your Child to the Library Day. National Novel Writing Month. There are so many literacy-themed programming ‘holidays’ in the calendar year that it can be easy to let them slip through the cracks. When we do remember them, it’s often at the eleventh hour – too late to present an effective program. Programming is an increasingly important part of library service (it’s even part of DLD’s new minimum standards), and literacy-themed programs and events are a great place to make an impact. Join us on Zoom for an overview of these celebrations and programming ideas to promote them at your library.
