Library Gym: Social Media Online

Welcome back to Library Gym, where North Country library workers gather together online to work out - with weighty topics! Each session will involve participants sharing their thoughts, opinions, policies, and practices on a particular topic. Maybe the topic will be something your library has a lot of experience with, or maybe it'll be something you've never even thought about. Either way, Library Gym will be sure to exercise your critical thinking skills. This session will focus on social media use.

Being active on social media platforms has become an indispensable part of a library's online presence and public relations strategy. But how well is it meeting our communication goals - and how do we measure that success?

Before attending this session, consider these questions:

  • Which platforms are you subscribed to, and how did your library choose them?
  • How much staff time is allocated to content creation?
  • What have been your library's most liked and/or widely shared posts?
  • How do you manage timely responses to comments and DMs?
  • How do you measure the real-world impact of your posts?

Every library is different, and every library will have had different experiences with this topic. We want to hear the good, the bad, and the awkward so that we can learn from each other. See you there!

Please note: This session will not be recorded.
