Budgeting for Beginners Online
All library trustees are responsible for proper oversight of the money the library has and making sure that the library gets the money it needs. You may not be involved with drafting the library budget, but you should be familiar with it and how it ties back to the board-approved plan of service. Join NCLS Consultant Angela Newman as she covers:
- Preparing the budget
- Knowing your funding sources
- Knowing your expenditures
- Different types of library funds (operating, capital, reserve)
- Budget transparency
- Predicting future costs
This session is an intro-level look at the budget process and is a great fit for new trustees, first time, directors, or anyone who wants to know more about library budgets and how they work.
