Mandy Walters: Doing Less with Less Online

Library staff have a hard time saying no to their communities, and the thought of ending programs or services can be terrifying when usage stats rule. In this session, Pend Oreille County Library District Director Mandy Walters will detail the merits of doing an excellent job with the funds allocated but no more and, in turn, making the case to the community that more funds equals more services. Scaling back can also be a morale builder for staff, decreasing burnout and turnover. Attendees will leave with the communication tools necessary to justify doing less to their Boards, communities, and other stakeholders and to advocate regarding what they could do with more resources.
