Bridges out of Poverty @ ALB In-Person
Calling all changemakers! Join us at the Macsherry Library in Alexandria Bay for an interactive workshop that provides a myth-shattering framework for understanding poverty. The Bridges model is a powerful platform for building relationships of mutual respect, working shoulder to shoulder with those living in poverty to develop strategies, and creating a community where everyone can live well. Together, we will:
- Examine the impact of poverty on families
- Explore the hidden rules of economic class
- Identify ways to build / improve relationships
- Develop tools to better address individual needs
Facilitated by certified trainers Dawn Cole, United Way of Northern New York and Cindy Nelson, River Hospital. Workshop is based on the “Bridges out of Poverty” material developed by Ruby Payne, PhD, Phil DeVol, and Terie Dreussi Smith. Lunch and course materials will be provided.
